We are going to present a live demo of minting on Flame: burn «bitcoin», receive «flames». Everything is simulated — no real coins involved. A new block will be created every second instead of every 10 minutes, so you can try it yourself without a long wait. See you in November!

At Bitcoin++ in Berlin we presented Flame in a talk (slides, one-pager) for the first time.

Also, we ran the first Flame hackathon. Here are the winners:

1st place: Nico with a whole toolkit: Flame explorer, wallet demo and smart contract studio. The explorer shows confidential transfers, allowing decryption of personal transactions when signed into explorer, human-readable renderings of FlameVM programs etc. Link: github.com/1011001-p/flame-toolkit

2nd place: Zeeshan with a demo of a treasury with allowances – setting up spending limits and enforcing them via ZK constraints to keep the balance encrypted. Link: github.com/zeenix/firebreak

3rd place: Brandon from Cashu with a demo of auction with encrypted bids (link pending).
